Would you join a Naturist social networking website?

Naturism is somewhat of an underground activity. Most Naturists cannot discuss their practice openly with others in person. So, if you can’t talk about it with anyone, how do you find other people to share your interest? One answer is anonymously on the Internet. You can set up an alter ego and converse openly with others. People, especially those who don’t share your interest will not be able to identify you personally unless you tell them who you are. A way to get in contact with other naturists in your area to make new friends to share your common interest is through social networking websites.

It seems simple on the web; you create a profile and get matched with other Naturists in your area and start to chat. However, that might not be as desirable for some. Some people would rather remain anonymous and socialize online only. Some are fearful of online predators and would not want to be vulnerable. Still others wish to keep Naturism a private matter and not socialize about it.

The results of the poll were a little surprising. Granted that this is not a large sample or scientific, but shows a trend. The majority 69% would like to meet people in person that they meet on the web. I think this reflects the problem of Naturists not being able to discuss it openly and they would have a common meeting place for believers. 23% would just like to chat with others and not meet. 5% would not join for fear of predators. I thought this would be higher, but I suppose many people have faith in the anonymity of their profiles and safe surfing. 2% prefer to keep Naturism a private practice. Perhaps this number is low because people who prefer Naturism to be personal are probably not out on the web unless they are just looking for information. Overall, I think this poll shows that Naturists are eager to seek out and share their ideas and interest with like-minded people.

Telling people that you practice Naturism is a very hard leap to make. Most have a fear that it would not be accepted and they would be permanently marked as some type of deviant. However, most Naturists want to practiced as a social activity, so how do you reconcile the fact that it is hard to tell people yet you want them to know. It is not surprising from the poll results that there are a few practicing Naturists that are uncomfortable telling anyone often because they feel there would be dire consequences. The vast majority only tells like-minded people. I highly recommend this approach because you want to interact with people about your interests, but there can be backlash from people who do not understand. I feel that people who answered that they don’t tell anyone would talk more about it if they knew more like-minded people. Also, some people consider the practice private and that is ok too. I salute those who are openly Naturist. I wish we could all be that way. Maybe someday…

Nudist beaches in Mallorca This list of beaches on Mallorca should be understood as those which are mostly frequented by nudists. Which doesn’t mean, that nudism is not practised in many other beaches, specially the unspoilt and more isolated ones. Nudism in Spain is a legal practice, and in Mallorca there aren’t beaches exclusively for nudists. Cala Torta in Artà, Mallorca Es Canyaret in Llucalcari nearby Deià, in the Tramuntana mountains. In the municipal area of Calvià on the west coast the beaches where nudism is most frequently practised are; El Mago, Bella Dona and Caló des Monjo to the right of Cala Fornells in Peguera. In the south there is Es Trenc with a section for nudists in the middle of the beach, very crowed specially on Sundays and during the high season. Es Pregons Grans between Colònia de Sant Jordi and Es Trenc beach. S’Arenal de Sa Ràpita near to Ses Covetes and Es Caragol beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca nearby Colònia de Sant Jordi to the left from the port. In the north we find the right hand side of Cala Mesquida, Cala Moltó next to Cala Agulla in Cala Rajada resort, Cala Torta in Artà quite isolated but easy to reach by road. Sa Canova beach to the right of Son Serra de Marina and S’Arenal d’En Casat beach in Son Real natural park. In the east coast there is Cala Varques between Porto Cristo and Porto Colom. Perranzabuloe Nude Beach

"The beach has a long history of naturist use and so we are suggesting
working with all parties to have the beach made official, with a
designated area created, so that it will be easy to spot anyone
naked outside that area, who may have visited the beach for the wrong reasons."

Pednevounder Nude Beach

Description: The nude beach is notable for its outstanding rock
formations, the cliffs of Treryn Dinas and Logan Rock, a famous,
65 ton rock that is naturally balanced about 100 feet above the sea.
The yellow sand of this nude beach is almost underwater at high tide
though at low tide there is a wide, shallow area.
The beach is close to Treen, on the south coast of Cornwall.
It's a popular vacation area so if you are planning to visit,
make accommodation or campsite reservations early.

Facilities: The beach has no facilities.

Warnings: Getting to this beach involves some very steep
paths and scrambling down a narrow path.
This is not a beach for anyone who is afraid of heights
and who can't manage steep descents over loose, rocky paths.
Several sandbars emerge along this beach at low tide.
Signs along the beach warn about dangerous currents for
swimmers in certain areas.

Getting there: Head for Penzance, near the tip of Cornwall
and pick up the A30 dual carriageway heading west.
About 4 miles from Penzance, look for the B3283 south, Penzance Road.
After just under 3.5 miles, bear left onto the B3315 and look for signs for Treen.
There is pay and display parking in Treen.
From the parking, follow signs for Treen campsite and head past it
for the coastal path. Look for a path that forks off the main path
and is closer to the cliffs. A third, narrow path heads downward
over rocks to the beach. The last bit of this path is not for anyone
afraid of heights or steep scrambles.

It is possible to walk along the sands from Porthcurno Beach
at low tide but when the tide rolls in, there is only the steep
cliff path route out.

The best nudist beaches in Spain

The practice of nudism, naturism is not new to the Spanish coast. And this leads many decades and increasingly gaining more followers. For those who practice it, or those who want to start doing so, we leave here our personal (and subjective) list of the best nudist beaches in Spain and can choose where sunbathing au naturel.

Playa de Cabopino, Marbella

At this beach we spent a previous post when we speak of the best beaches in Malaga. About 1 mile from beach protected by the reservation of dunes. There is an “textile” and another with a nudist-friendly and seamless transition of living together (as usual with this type of beach). There is a bar which, incidentally, and could settle a little. Recommend that you take your own umbrella and go there for lunch a spectacular day.

Cala Morisca, Sitges

A very small beach (only about 120 meters) on the coast of Garraf and nestled in the midst of a cliff. The surface is loose stones and sand and it’s worth it to get to enjoy the sea and the sun. There are showers and sun beds for rent. At the top there is a restaurant and bar with terrace.

New Beach Umbria, Huelva

Is located in the natural marshes of Piedras and Flecha New Umbria. There are about 13 miles of white sand where lovers can enjoy naturism for the first nudist beach in the province of Huelva. To reach this beach you can take a stroll from the beach of La Antilla (a pretty long walk), another alternative is to cross the marsh by a Catalan path paved drive, or swim from the beach in San Miguel Rompido. It is completely virgin, it should provide shade and food.

Playa Es Trenc Mallorca

The nine miles of beaches that are Rpita Inc., and is Trenc Salobrar Fields are a succession of dunes between pine trees. There is only one small village, Ses Covetes, with just 70 inhabitants. Trenc us there is the nudist beach in the area. It is fine sand, there are not many waves and the atmosphere is very good. At the ends of the beach areas are located “textiles.” Parking is close, but you have to arrive early. The kiosks are in the textile sector.
